Angara and Tubacoat Group enter into partnership to significantly drive decarbonization

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – June 20, 2022 – Angara has entered into a global framework agreement with Tubacex Group, the leading global supplier of premium tubular solutions in advanced materials.

The agreement focuses on offering the disruptive Tubacoat Technology in heat exchangers coupled with Angara’s technology to keep heat exchangers performing optimally through its Fouling Fracturing approach. This alignment supports the ambition of both companies to offer attractive short-term routes for significant decarbonization and profitability in refinery process units.

Tubacoat Technology, developed by Tubacex Group, is based on tailor-made ceramic coatings that allow customers that are faced with severe fouling, coking, corrosion or abrasion challenges in harsh media and high temperature conditions to drastically improve their efficiency, reliability and productivity, while significantly decreasing their environmental impacts. With this five-year agreement, Angara will explore the integration of Tubacoat Technology within its Decarbonx ecosystem to further improve unit design, efficiency, and reliability for existing and new refinery units.

According to Angara CEO Petra Koselka, “this agreement comes as Angara is entering into a period of substantial growth and expansion. We have been actively seeking out partners with unique technologies that complement what we already offer to our clients. This way, we can further increase the value and long-term benefit to them.” Petra continued, “In fact, our Decarbonx program aims to reduce some 230 million tons of CO2 annually by 2030 in refining alone, is an open platform where we invite partners to join us in actively working together to address our global climate challenges with pragmatic, sizeable solutions.”

Jesús Esmorís, CEO of Tubacex Group said “We are pleased with this frame-work strategic agreement. With ongoing initial project opportunities, the agreement has the potential to bring best of technologies from both companies to deliver impactful solutions to existing and new heat exchangers and other refining units around the world. Tubacoat tubes minimize formation, deposition and plugging due to coke/carbon in heat exchangers and other refinery and petrochemical unit heat exchangers besides minimizing corrosion and thus improve unit reliability, life cycle, throughput and reduced carbon footprint”.
